Metadata Policy
VIII. Metadata Policy
Revista Biomédica uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform to manage metadata for all published articles in a standardized, automated manner. This tool allows the generation of structured, machine-readable metadata in formats compatible with international standards (such as Dublin Core, Crossref XML, DOI, among others), thereby promoting interoperability and facilitating indexing across services and databases.
Published articles include complete metadata—title, authors, institutional affiliations, abstract, keywords, DOI, references, and publication date—to ensure their proper identification, retrieval, and visibility in search engines and academic platforms.
The use of OJS ensures that the content is machine-readable, optimizing its integration into search engines, metadata harvesters, and national and international bibliographic systems, and contributing to the expansion of the reach and dissemination of scientific knowledge.
Through these actions, Revista Biomédica strengthens its commitment to the visibility, accessibility, and circulation of open-access knowledge, promoting greater reach and impact of the academic output it disseminates.
