Componentes bióticos como una alternativa para el mejoramiento de las enfermedades dermatológicas. Revisión descriptiva

Resumen

La piel es el órgano más grande y extenso del cuerpo humano y delimita el espacio del individuo con su entorno. La microbiota cutánea mantiene una estrecha relación con la piel y desempeña diversas funciones para la salud dermatológica. La disbiosis cutánea es el desequilibrio de la microbiota en el que se modifican la diversidad y la cantidad de microorganismos, lo que ocasiona enfermedades cutáneas. En la última década, se ha observado un aumento significativo en el número de pacientes con alteraciones cutáneas como consecuencia de la disbiosis. Por otra parte, se ha sugerido que los componentes bióticos pueden restablecer la disbiosis cutánea. Por tanto, el objetivo de esta revisión es analizar en profundidad el efecto de los componentes bióticos, como los probióticos, prebióticos, simbióticos y postbióticos, para contrarrestar la disbiosis cutánea y restablecer la microbiota cutánea. En la búsqueda se incluyeron estudios publicados en los últimos cinco años (de 2020 a 2025) en PubMed, SciELO y Google Scholar, con las palabras clave “componentes bióticos” y “enfermedades dermatológicas”, en inglés o español. En esta revisión descriptiva se examinaron los componentes bióticos incorporados en algunos productos dermatológicos para mejorar afecciones cutáneas como el acné, la dermatitis atópica, la dermatitis seborreica, la rosácea, la psoriasis e incluso el cáncer cutáneo. En conclusión, algunos productos dermatológicos enriquecidos con probióticos, prebióticos y/o postbióticos ofrecen una perspectiva terapéutica para tratar afecciones cutáneas y mejorar la estética de la piel.
